Create Yourself

We all go through changes over the years. And I feel as though the past couple of years have been a big push through for me.

2014 was the year that I realized that binge eating was holding me back.

2015 was the year that I started to learn to love myself.

After we got back from a cruise in May, I got into this weird funk/depression where I didn’t want to do anything.

It came up during a therapy session that I wasn’t happy with my current job status because I wasn’t staying that busy. I had too much free time and wasn’t actually doing anything with that time.

There was no blogging. No photography. No going out. I was forcing myself to read self help books.

It wasn’t good (or fun.)

After I got out of that mindset (for the most part) and brainstorming with Jeff about what I actually wanted to do with my life, I realized that I really do enjoy transcription and I didn’t want to give that up.

But I needed more of a creative outlet.

During our brainstorming, Jeff threw out that I could go back to audio (which is what I went to school for), but that didn’t sound interesting to me. I really only like the editing aspect of audio anymore.

Which helped me to realize that I really do love shooting and editing video!

And that led us down a fantastic path.

2016 is my year to CREATE.

Create (verb)
1) Bring something to existence
2) Cause something to happen as a result of one’s actions
3) To make or produce something

Create is not just about producing a video. All of those definitions mean slightly different things to me and that’s why I’m applying it to all aspects of my life.

I want to:

*create a yoga practice for my life
*create a space for me
*create art
create art - friends LEGO*create food
*create self-love
*create self-care
*create (and maintain) healthy relationships
create relationships - Jeff Kelly road trip*create videos and photos
create videos - looq Harley Davidson*create work
*create content
create content - backyard writing*create me time
create me time - cat book Harry Potter*create a healthy mindset

I have the ability to create whatever I want in 2016. And I plan to.

What do you want to create in 2016?

  1. I love this! I love choosing words to focus on instead of resolutions…sounds like you’re setup for a great year! Here’s to a great 2016! 🙂
